Terms & Conditions
1 - Rates are per day for pre-booked unlimited mileage rentals and include:
- a. Airport Fees.
- b. Unlimited mileage.
- c. Third party liability insurance
- d. 24 hour breakdown assistance
- e. Portuguese VAT at 20%
- f. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) this includes theft waiver, subject to the following conditions: In the event of an accident, vandalism, robbery or other damage to the vehicle, the client will pay an excess unless Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) or Special Super Collision Damage Waiver SSCDW has been paid, as follows:
- (1) Vehicle Groups; A, B, and C, €750.00
- (2) Vehicle Groups; D, E, and H, €1,000.00
- (3) Vehicle Groups; F, €1,500.00
- (4) Vehicle Groups; G1 and G2, €2000.00
2 - To avoid paying excess, clients may pay a premium (only available for 4 days or more rentals) called, Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) or Special Super Collision Damage Waiver SSCDW. SCDW rates are as follows:
- a. Vehicle Groups; A, B, and C, €7.50 per day
- b. Vehicle Groups; D and E, €10.00
- c. All other Vehicle Groups, €15.00
3 - Exceptions to SCDW are as follows: Clients will be charged for vehicle damage or loss of component parts etc. for example; Antenna, Ash trays, damage to vehicle locks, Loss or damage to keys, Wind shield wipers, glass, mirrors, wheels, tyres, Interior of the vehicle, Spare keys, Jack, Hub caps, Lights, Fuel caps, warning triangles, damage to upholstery, damage to the roof, damage caused by Roof racks, cleaning costs of an extremely dirty vehicle, Underside damage, Loss of personal belongings, Any damage due negligence, the cost of repair or replacement of tyres, fuel errors, damage to baby/child booster seats, damage to the radio, flat battery due to negligence, Loss of the vehicle documents, Loss of registration plates etc.
4 - Special Super Collision Damage Waiver SSCDW is available, paying SSCDW will also cover the cost of repairing flat tyres, damaged wind shields, loss of keys etc. rates are as follows:
- a. Vehicle Groups; A, B, and C, €11.00
- b. Vehicle Groups; D and E, €13.50
- c. Vehicle Groups; F,G, and H, €18.50
5 - Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is not include, it is available for €2.50 per day per car (all Occupants).
6 - Drivers must be at least 21 years old and have held a full licence for 12 months.
7 - 21 to 23 year old drivers will pay a premium of €5.00 per day, this premium will not apply to 23 year old drivers who have held a full driving licence for 12 months.
8 - Vehicle types are shown for example in each group, similar type vehicles to those shown may be supplied instead.
9 - Additional drivers will be charged a premium of €10.00 per rental.
10 - Across border rental (Spain only) is available for a premium of €30.00 per rental.
11 - One way rentals (alternative airport drop off) is free for rentals of 7 days or more. For rentals of 6 days or less, the following charges apply:
- a. Porto-Lisbon, Lisbon Porto, €50.00
- b. Faro-Lisbon, Lisbon-Porto, €50.00
- c. Porto-Faro, Faro-Porto, €100.00
12 - Roof racks are available by prior arrangement, for a charge of €15.00 per rental.
13 - Baby/Child booster seats are available by prior arrangement, for a charge of €5.00 per day. (Max €70.00).
14 - GPS Navigation Systems are available by prior arrangement, for a charge of €10.00 (max €100.00).
15 - For pick up and/or drop off of vehicles between 2300hrs and 0700hrs, there is a charge of €25.00.
16 - One rental day is considered a 24 hour period, there is a 3 hour tolerance between the pick up and drop off times, if this 3 hour tolerance is exceeded, an extra day’s rental will be added.
17 - Rentals of 8 days or more are pro-rata the 7 day rate.
18 - It is standard practice for all Portuguese Car Hire Companies to take a signed credit card slip from clients when renting a vehicle.
19 - In accordance with Portuguese Law, drivers involved in accidents after consuming alcohol, will pay for any damage incurred.
20 - All prices above include Portuguese VAT
